Men’s Shed Workshop

About This Program

Roll up your sleeves!
Join our woodworking workshop for people living with dementia and care partners. Fun and laughter are guaranteed as we work with our hands to create a beautiful woodworking project. The Men’s Shed is offering a free half-day workshop for men and women in the early stages of dementia and their caregivers. This workshop is a place where participants can enjoy meeting, making friends, socializing and helping each other.

Come together, get active and productive—all of which are keys to good overall health.

NOTE: A caregiver must accompany the person living with dementia.

Many men in our community have both time on their hands and a tendency to suffer from isolation, loneliness, and depression. This is especially true after they retire as many men tie big parts of their identities to their careers. Men’s Sheds are modern, shared versions of the home workshops that have long been part of the Canadian way of life.

This workshop is a part of an age-friendly, week-long community initiative Better Ways. Better days. in Arnprior and McNab/Braeside Township.
