Unique Coloring Creations with Claudia Salguero

About This Program

The Dementia Society, in partnership with MASC, is excited to present Unique Coloring Creations with Claudia Salguero.  Participants will learn to create unique, vibrant fluid drawings with coloured pencils.  Claudia will teach blending and colour combinations, discussing colour theory and meanings.  She will guide participants through their design choices, ensuring they feel confident and proud of their creations.

Claudia Salguero is a Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist and community advocate. Since 2014, she has created over 70 community murals in Ottawa with various social institutions

MASC offers schools and communities arts experiences led by professional artists that awaken the creative process, deepen cultural awareness, encourage engagement, and give vivid demonstration of Canada’s diversity.  To learn more about MASC, click HERE.

About Claudia Salguero

Claudia Salguero is a Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist and community advocate.  Since 2014, she has created over 70 community murals in Ottawa with various social institutions.  As a Latin folk and jazz singer, she has raised funds for children’s foundations in Colombia through annual sold-out concerts at Canada’s National Arts Centre since 2011.  Claudia also serves on the Arts Network Ottawa’s Board of Directors.

In-person Event
The Daisy Café is a weekly program for people living with dementia taking place on Wednesdays from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the Nick Smith Centre in Arnprior. The program has a variety of planned activities or performances each week. We hope to provide a space for participants to express themselves creatively and to socialize with other attendees and volunteers. Care partners are welcome to leave during this time to take some moments to themselves.

In-person Event
Experience the joy and the power of music. Joyful Sound Ottawa is an intergenerational community choir for people with memory loss, their caregivers, and friends. Participants will form a choir and sing along with their peers resulting in a performance at the end of the series.
In-person Event
Join us in-person at the Dementia Society Centre on the last Tuesday of the month to participate in Turquoise Live with Sid and Chris.  Our animated and energetic group leaders, Chris White and Sid Ameen, engage participants using rhythm, song, gesture, dance, and humour in the spirit of friendship and fun.
