The primary objective of this research is to build knowledge about the experiences of trans older adults with dementia and their support networks. The research question asks: What are the lived experiences of trans older adults with dementia and their support networks?
The project aims to:
Findings from this research project will be communicated with all participants, the general public, practitioners, and academics, and will be used for the betterment of resources, policy, and general academic work on the topic. Findings will be communicated in a number of ways: through workshops to practitioners and community organizations, guideline booklets for practitioners, community organizations and the general public, and academic papers and conferences for the scientific community.
This research is approved by the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, University of Ottawa.
