Meet Dr. Laurel Charlesworth MD FRCPC

Dr. Laurel Charlesworth is a sleep physician and neurologist at the Ottawa Hospital, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She has a clinical interest in the overlap of neurologic conditions and sleep medicine.  She combines these interests to help educate physicians and trainees on fatigue risk management impact and strategies within the healthcare system, with focus on physician wellness.

By the end of this webinar, you will learn:

Explore the role of sleep in brain health, including the impact of good sleep habits and the risks associated with poor sleep.
Learn practical, actionable tips to improve your sleep habits to support brain health in women.
Dr. Charlesworth will provide insight to help you recognize when to seek help from a healthcare professional regarding your sleep. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions or concerns related to sleep and dementia risk. 

Women's Mind Matters

The Dementia Society launched The Women’s Mind Matters initiative to explore the impacts of dementia on women and has been at the forefront raising awareness of women’s brain health and risks for dementia. This webinar is the latest in this learning series aiming to increase awareness of the risks of dementia inherent to women, and to share hopeful news and practical tips about preventive measures to reduce the risk of 40% of dementias.
