Your gift of life insurance will change the life of someone living with dementia
Make an impactful charitable gift of your life insurance.
A gift of life insurance is a significant, and tax-efficient way for you to donate to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
There are three ways you can donate a life insurance policy to The Dementia Society:
1. Take out a new policy in the name of The Dementia Society. You will receive a tax receipt for the cash value of the policy and for any premiums you pay.
2. Name the Dementia Society as the beneficiary of your existing policy. This is a good option for those who have a policy that their family no longer needs for financial stability. At the time of your death, The Dementia Society will receive the policy proceeds and your estate will receive the tax benefits.
3. Transfer ownership of your existing policy to the Dementia Society and receive a charitable tax receipt for the cash value of the policy. If you owe annual premiums on the policy, you’ll still pay them, but you’ll also receive tax receipts in the amount of your payments.
To donate your life insurance policy to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County, simply contact your insurance agent and provide them with the completed beneficiary or owner name change form from your life insurance provider.
