Our region’s new, one-stop website to locate dementia-inclusive businesses, community services and resources.

LIVING WELL, STAYING CONNECTED

Dementia613 is a tool to facilitate continued engagement and connections for our community. Living well includes maintaining physical and mentally-stimulating activities, and preventing the social isolation which often results from the stigma associated with dementia. Often, individuals experiencing memory issues and/or their caregivers withdraw socially out of fear, stigma, or because they are unaware that support is available. Similarly, others may withdraw from people living with dementia and their caregivers due to lack of understanding.

HOW IT WORKS

Dementia613 allows the user to search for, and locate online and bricks-and-mortar businesses and organizations that offer products and services that meet the needs of people living with dementia and their caregivers. With over 170 organizations in various sectors—including financial and legal services; food and beverage; health and wellbeing—users can search by location within Ottawa, Renfrew County
and the surrounding area.

Dementia Friendly

WHAT IS DEMENTIA FRIENDLY

Dementia Friendly means we are on a journey to building a more dementia-inclusive community. Dementia Friendly Training, is a one-hour in-person or online training module that sensitizes business and service providers to the needs and concerns of people living with dementia and their caregivers. Dementia-Friendly organizations learn strategies for approaching, communicating and even environmental considerations for people living with dementia.
