In this course, we will learn about Mild Cognitive impairment (MCI) and gain a comprehensive understanding of its symptoms, its connection with dementia, and strategies for healthy brain aging.  Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) describes the decline in cognitive abilities that do not significantly impact daily activities. MCI can be an early warning sign of dementia, but by making healthy choices that promote healthy brain aging, the chance of developing dementia can be reduced.

Learning Outcomes

  • Define mild cognitive impairment.
  • Identify the symptoms of MCI, how to get diagnosed, and suggested treatments.
  • Identify differences and similarities between MCI and dementia.
  • Review healthy brain choices to prevent MCI and some dementia.
