Create Your Own Fundraising Event

You have the power to change the lives of people living with dementia.

The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County relies on community fundraisers to fund a range of programs, services, and supports for those living with dementia as well as their caregivers. Hosting a community fundraising event is a fun way to get involved, meet new people, raise awareness, remember a loved one, and fulfill your philanthropic goals.

While community events are the responsibility of the event organizer, we are always available to answer questions and provide guidance.

How The Dementia Society can help you with your fundraising event:

  • Provide a speaker if needed.
  • Provide some support through our communications channels.
  • Give you guidance for placing public service announcements.
  • Issue tax receipts for donations of $25.00 or more.
  • Issue acknowledgement receipts (non-tax). Please talk to us for more information.
  • Help you sell tickets or provide or recruit volunteers.
  • Place newspaper or other ads for you.
  • Share our mailing and donor lists.
  • Send mail or email to our clients and/or donors about your event.
  • Endorse products.
  • Accept responsibility for expenses you may incur.
