Dementia Inclusive Communities

The Public Health Agency of Canada, as part of the National Dementia Strategic Fund, awarded a grant to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County to pursue the project, Stronger Together: Creating Dementia Inclusive Communities.

Over the last 18 months, the Dementia Society launched an integrated project to support Canada’s national dementia strategy in our region. The Stronger Together project included public outreach events, dementia inclusive training, an awareness campaign, and many other activities. The project focused on reducing the stigma associated with dementia and improving the quality of life for all people living with dementia, their caregivers, friends, and families.

We share our work here in this Playbook, hoping it inspires, informs, and ignites others to develop dementia-inclusive communities.
