Part Two: Implementing Your Strategic Plan, Education

Hosting Webinars

The Education Team created a series of webinars addressing different topics related to dementia. Speakers are from a recognized organization/institution with research or clinical experience.

Webinars are a great tool to build relationships with your audience, engage with them, and promote your message. Live broadcasting provides a great opportunity to host a Q&A with your audience, and recorded sessions ensure that webinars are available for viewing at any point.

How-To

Here is a step-by-step process for hosting webinars.

Step 1
Contact speakers and schedule.
Step 2
Webinar is 1 hour long with a Q&A at the end, is recorded, and broadcasted live on Facebook.
Step 3
Sessions go live on Zoom Webinar platform.
Step 4
Live poll takes place at the end of the webinar.
Step 5
Post survey goes out to registered participants, and the recorded video is supplied in a timely manner.

As with any new project and process, there are unforeseen challenges. We aim to share the challenges we met and the lessons we learned as a result.

Lessons Learned

Ensure your team has tested the logistics before the webinar and has support staff available to manage Q&A and technical aspects.

Tips

  • Have the speaker rehearse and go over logistics well in advance
