About The 2023 BrainyActive Walk for Dementia
The BrainyActive Walk for Dementia is The Dementia Society’s annual signature fundraising event. Building on a 24 year-strong tradition, we are thrilled to relaunch the “Walk” in 2023. Key changes this year include an inclusive 1 KM route for people of all abilities, plus live entertainment, and refreshments and snacks. In 2023, The BrainyActive Walk for Dementia will be held on Sunday, September 24 at the new Dementia Society Centre. Participants will enjoy a fun Sunday morning with friends, family and our community to raise funds for the 24,000 people impacted by dementia in Ottawa and Renfrew County.
Why Support the 2023 Walk
Dementia is projected to more than double by 2050. In our over 40-year history, more people in our region are reaching out for help than ever before. We need your help. With dementia on the rise, government funding is not nearly enough to meet demand for services and support. We need your help to raise the funds needed to provide the education, support and programming sought by unprecedented numbers of people impacted by dementia in our region. The money we raise stays here to directly support our free access services for people in Ottawa and Renfrew County.
