Arts and Minds: Creative Cards and Crafts

About This Program

Creative Crafts and Cards is a weekly program designed for caregivers and their loved ones to enjoy themed card-making projects inspired by holidays and seasons. Each week offers a new creative adventure, including a special “Fun and Fold” session where participants explore unique folding and origami techniques to craft beautiful, eye-catching cards. All materials are provided, ensuring that attendees can fully immerse themselves in the creative process and take home their handmade masterpieces.

We offer a similar program, Craft Crew, hosted in-person at the Dementia Society Centre. For more information, click HERE. While both programs emphasize creativity and crafting, the Creative Cards & Crafts program involves more kit-based projects and includes home décor crafting in addition to card making. In contrast, the Card Crew focuses exclusively on making greeting cards from scratch, utilizing a wide range of paper crafting tools and techniques.

Arts and Minds series is an opportunity for people living with dementia and their partner to explore and experience art. Art projects can create a sense of accomplishment and purpose. They can provide the person with dementia — as well as caregivers — an opportunity for self-expression. Instructors guide participants through an art class. Participants receive art supplies to engage in the activity and follow along with the instructor.
