Join Our Fund Development Committee: Shape the Future of Our Community!

Are you passionate about making a real difference? The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County (DSORC) is opening applications for our Fund Development and Communications Committee. We want fresh perspectives from a minimum of two new community members like you to help us drive our mission forward.

Through compassionate support, tailored coaching, and practical education, the Dementia Society helps individuals and families across Ottawa and Renfrew County live well when faced with dementia, while building a more dementia-inclusive community. At the heart of everything the Dementia Society does is one guiding belief: no one should face dementia alone.

As a volunteer member of the Fund Development and Communications Committee, a working committee of the DSORC Board of Directors, you will play a vital role in securing the resources DSORC needs to thrive.

Your Impact

  • Build Connections: Introduce new community members, businesses, and sponsors to our cause.
  • Host Events: Brainstorm and support engaging community events and digital campaigns.
  • Shape Strategy: Help design creative fundraising campaigns and donor programs.
  • Share Insights: Bring your unique local perspective to our resource development team.

Who Can Apply?

This volunteer role is open to residents of Ottawa and/or Renfrew County who care about our community. We welcome diverse backgrounds, but we are especially looking for people with skills or experience in:

  • Networking and community building
  • Marketing, social media, or storytelling
  • Sales, fundraising, or business development

Time Commitment

  • Term: 2-year commitment.
  • Meetings: Meetings every two months, lasting 1.5 hours.
  • Flexibility: Meetings are held virtually via Teams in the evenings.
