Support Group, In-person Event

Kanata Coffee Club in October

About This Program

Gather with other caregivers at the Kanata Senior’s Centre in a supportive and understanding environment. In a typical session, you’ll have the opportunity to share personal experiences, discuss caregiving strategies, and learn from others. Led by a Care Coach and a trained volunteer, this support group encourages open dialogue and provides access to current and relevant resources.

Benefits of attending: Build meaningful connections, gain valuable insights and practical strategies, and find encouragement and support as you navigate the challenges of caregiving.

A separate social group for individuals living with dementia takes place at the same time and location. This allows the person you are caring for to participate in social activities and connect with others while you attend the caregiver support group.

This program is intended for caregivers, care partners, family members, or friends supporting someone living with dementia.

Please note: You must register online to attend this program. If you plan to bring the person you are caring for, you will be able to indicate this during the registration process so they can be registered for the social group.

If you have registered a person living with dementia for the social group, we kindly ask that you notify us at least one day in advance if they are no longer able to attend. This helps us plan appropriately and ensure we have adequate staff and volunteers to support the group.

If you experience any issues during the registration process, please call 613-523-4004 ext. 2 for assistance.
